Using Music in Spiritual Rituals
Music has always been an integral part of spirituality, and even religion, as far as history goes. Music has been used to spread knowledge, heal, focus, and transmute energy and experiences. It should come as no surprise then that music has been used for centuries for many spiritual rituals, from chants to shaman’s drums, for spellwork, worship and healing. Music is a great and enjoyable tool to use that can be used in your daily practice. Here are two ways to add it to your life, and take advantage of its energy:
Manifestation Magic
Words and sounds, when used repetitively can influence and change the way we see. Picking a specific thing you want to manifest and creating a playlist around it will help create energy to attract that kind of experience. For example, if you want to experience a certain kind of love, you can make a playlist of all the songs that remind you of the experience of the love you are seeking.
In fact, take time to listen to this playlist every day while visualising what you want every day. This will help put you in the right state of mind to be open to receiving it.
Staying In The Present With Tones
Since music can be an experience on its own that transforms a whole landscape with its shifting notes and sounds, one can use it to ground themselves. This means to be present and listen to the notes but also be fully engrossed in the experience of it with all your senses. Music can guide your body to centre itself and teach you to be present at the moment.
Sitting to allow your body to relax, and concentrate on the music can indirectly help you build up the habit of narrowing your focus to stay with the ability to listen to what is happening in the current moment. This can be done with meditation and chants too.
