The Intuitive High Priestess In Tarot

High Priestess Tarot

The High Priestess Card is the second card in Major Arcana Deck and is associated with the archetype of the divine feminine. The symbology on the card all relates to the qualities the divine feminine possesses which are spiritual enlightenment, intuition, divine knowledge and creativity. These qualities are the reason this card is associated with the nurturing zodiac sign Cancer’s energy, the element of water and the moon.

Sacred Knowledge Exists In Between

The card depicts the high priestess sitting in Solomon’s Temple with the black pillar of Boaz of strength on one side, while on the other hand is the white Jachin pillar of strength. The two pillars represent the acceptance and the balance needed for duality, such as masculine and feminine energy, and the darkness and light to access spiritual wisdom. Her sitting in the middle signifies she has achieved that balance, as the crown and the cross she wears signify she now holds divine knowledge.

The moon at her feet represents her connection to her subconscious and her intuition, while the book “Torah” she holds represents higher knowledge. It is these attributes that remind us to look beyond the material world to gain a better understanding of our situation. The veil behind her of pomegranates represents the abundance and fertility that can come from such knowledge.

Move Past The Veil

This card serves as an encouragement to listen to your inner voice and work on trusting your feelings. You must also seek to balance your energies and seek the answer that is within. This involves looking beyond what is in front of you.

In addition, this card asks you to be patient on this journey of listening for all the answers you seek are within yourself. They will eventually reveal themselves. Learn to listen to your gut feeling rather than your intellect. The High Priestess urges you to trust what your body is telling you.
